International company is seeking a VBA/VB6 Developer
International is seeking for a VBA/VB6 Developer for one of our top clients.
Functions:
The responsibilities of the VB6 developers are to maintain, develop, upgrade, and enhance a suite of legacy software products. This will be required for a number of years until we roll out new .NET versions of the same products. Our Client will then cross-train the individuals into C# including .NET Core and WebAPI, as well as Angular / other Single-Page Application Frameworks. This will be an opportunity to get involved in the development of best-of-breed applications in an agile SCRUM environment.
Requirements:
Demonstrable understanding of the principles of object-oriented design and programming experience of its application
Sound knowledge and practical experience of the complete software development lifecycle
Ability to communicate well and to present their own thoughts and ideas
Ability to work effectively alone or with people from a range of different backgrounds
At least 3 years of experience developing commercial client-server type applications
Using Microsoft Visual Basic (version 6)
Good-to-strong SQL skills on Microsoft SQL Server
Other software skills deemed to be an asset:
Microsoft SQL Server (2014+), Visual Studio Team Services, Team City, Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), Microsoft Scripting Runtime, Data Dynamics ActiveReports, Crystal Reports, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), XML/XLST/XSD, C#, Entity Framework, WebAPI, Angular, ASP.NET / MVC
